Technical Skills
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) particularly Agile methodology and testing at various stages of software development life cycle
- Knowledge of manual as well as automated testing methodologies
- Experience with Black box and White box testing
- Ability to create test strategies, test plans and test cases
- Excellent scripting skills for automation of regression testing
- Prior experience testing UI driven application as well as batch processing
- Testing for validating conformity with functional specs as well as stress testing and testing for performance and scalability
- Able to handle automation projects from beginning to end
- Able to set up QA and test environment from scratch
- Experience leading a QA team (onsite and off shore)
- Ability to precisely log, track and manage defects
Required ‘Soft’ Skills
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to delivery quickly and accurately.
- Ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and systems.
- Experience designing and developing scalable systems and platforms with the ability to grow incrementally.
- Outstanding analytical skills with a history of success in synthesizing and integration information and data from varied sources.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills but not an ‘office politician’.
- Work well under pressure, has the ability to work within tight timelines and to collaborate across teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Experience with retail systems such as POS, ERP, and WMS software systems is an asset.
- Must be a strong / enthusiastic team player who’s willing to go the extra mile. We don’t want a clock watcher!
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-packed start-up environment.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of QA experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and experience. It’s more about your attitude and experience versus what school you went to!
- Expert in use of automated testing tools like Selenium, QTP, Win runner etc.
- Expert in use of defect tracking/reporting software (e.g. Jira/Bugzilla)
- Knowledge of Retail Business is a plus
